Should I risk it?

I read a lot of good reviews about the EVGA 750i FTW board and was almost set on buying the board before reading about all the video corruption on their forum. It sounds like they have a bios fix for it, but it's just relaxed timing and no words on the root cause of the problem. There are also people claiming to not have any problems though

What do you guys think? Should I buy one and try my luck or just switch to a P45 chipset?

Are you planning to use two Nvidia cards in SLi?

If not the answer is obvious. Intel boards are more stable and tend to overclock better.

I wanted to... but between the rumored nvidia G92 issues and the known video corruption of the 750i.. I'm really getting hesitant.

What size monitor are you running and what cards were you planning to pair? ATI really has the price/performance crown at the moment anyway.

I don't want to sound elitist or snobbish (I don't use SLi anyway) but in some ways SLi isn't really intended for people who are looking to spend $150 or less on a motherboard. It's really at its most effective when you have two very powerful cards driving a large display. The people who are buying two $300+ video cards, a $150+ PSU and a 24"+ display aren't generally looking for a $150 motherboard if that makes sense.

Thanks. I have a 21' monitor, but I do want to use my projector when gaming/watching dvd so I want to be able to do 1080 resolution as well.

For me, SLI makes sense because 2x 8800gt would run about the same price as ATI 4870, but outperforms in most games (I saw the report on anandtech). Also I just got the 8800gt board already, so it made sense for me to do SLI except for all the problems I've been hearing.

Well if you already have an 8800GT that certainly has to factor into your decision.

What PSU are you using?
