Should I risk getting the MSI K8N Neo Platinum or FSR?

MSI is the fastest but I'm completely overwhelmed with the countless horror stories I'm hearing with the K8N Neo boards.

The Gigabyte GA-K8NS PRO looks good too but supposedly has issues with running two sticks of memory at their rated speeds (I'm gonna be buying 2X 512MB Kingwin DDR500).

My only other option is the Shuttle AN51R, which has no issues whatsoever but runs a bit slower than the rest.

Note that I'm going to be watercooling the chipset, and since the Epox and Biostar boards do not have chipset mounting holes, I can't use them (don't feel like epoxying on my chipset, even if it's removable.) I really like the MSI package, but I'm really worried about the horror stories. I've always been a Shuttle user (3 boards) and they've always, always been rock solid all the time, every time.

Go with the Shuttle, it has been proven to be easily modded and a great overclocker. I wouldn't waste another dime on MSI, they have burned me a few too many times.

What mods are available? Cheap ones? :)

Oh yeah, ignore my "[Shuttle has] always, always been rock solid all the time, every time." comment and my sig which reads "Shuttle AK31A - exploded." Uh, it was about high time. :p

I would look over in the AMDMB forums and you should be able to find the VDimm mod that allows you to send more juice to your RAM for higher FSB overclocks. I don't think it costs more than a few bucks depending on what you'll need.
