Should I return these jack stands?

After raising the front of the 2001 Integra with a floor jack. I went ahead and place the jack stand in the same location you're supposed to place the scissor jack, behind the front tires. The ratchet mast (orange object) was in no where near with making contact with the rod.

Looks like from the pic you uploaded, comparing it with the same stands on Amazon, you could raise the stands another 3 or so notches instead of getting another set of stands. I have a pair of the ones you have and love them with my 02 Grand Am GT1.
 
so you are saying you don't like the shape of the top of the stand? cant you just put it somewhere else on the structure?
 
All of my stands are nearly flat for that exact reason. I never understood these ultra-sharp, ultra-deep "V" shaped stands.
