OK, here's what happened...
I put all of this together:
Epox 8hka+
OEM AMD xp 1600+
256mb Nanya DDR
Generic case with 250 watt PSU (bad idea, i know)
It never posted, my CPU toasted, and I got an "FF" error code.
I put a Duron 600 on the board inside another case, and it posted. With no CPU installed, I can give the MB power and it gives an "00" code.
Anyway, I returned my CPU and got a new one, (thank God), and I'm ready to try again....but now I'm scared of frying something again. Should I return the original MB? I got it less than a month ago from newegg.com. Is returning stuff to them a hassle??
This time I'm arming myself with a new case, (the Black Evercase w/ 300 watt PSU), a new HS/F for my CPU, and some arctic silver...What do you guys think? Keep the MB and try again, or return it and start over with all new parts?
