Should I replace MSI's Neo4 NB Fan with ZM-NB47J ?

does anybody know if this will be adequate for MSI's Neo4 Platinum ?

Should I stay with the active solution (fan) ?

Thanx,

I would be using it in a Sonata case with a front 120mm fan installed which would basically put it right next to the fan. Shouldn't that be enough airflow over it?

From the looks of it the Zalman would just be right up against the edge of a graphics card's PCB. And with all the 6600GT cards there seems to be a single small capacitor that may block it.

I don't think a case fan can cool a hot NB chip, although it is just about "common knowledge" for people to replace their ABit NF7's "faulty" NB fan with the Zalman's. I say "faulty" because a LOT of people are/were complaining about the unbearable noise that the NB fan makes after about a month or so.

I tried to use that cooler, it wasnt even enough for my nforce3 (neo2 plat). The system was extremely unstable even at the default speed. By looks, I figured it would be more than adaquate, but I tried remounting it several times to no avail. Finally put the noisy little stocker on it, and the board worked fine again. I am probibly going to end up getting a water block for it, I flippen hate that little fan...
