Should I repair this system or scrap it for parts?

Ok so I have this dell Dimension 4600 that I got 100% free from a guy because it had been hit by lightning and his insurance gave him a new one.

It's a P4 2.4/533, with 256MB RAM and an older 64MB nvidia card, a regular CDROM, and a 7200RPM 80GB drive. With power plugged in the front power LED stays on, but nothing spins up and nothing happens when you hit the power button.

I'm almost certain at this point that the problem is with the motherboard, as all the components seem to work in other systems, and a different power supply didn't resolve the issue. So the big question is:

Should I spend the $80-100 or so for a new mobo on eBay to get this thing going, or just scrap it for parts? Seems like a decent little crash and burn system for that much $$, but I don't know... I don't really NEED a new system, and maybe just the $$ for the drive and the processor etc. would be decent, but you kind of always want to add another system to your network, even if you don't really need it. Wonder how much I could get for the parts sold separately?

Thoughts?
