For the love of God if you do, please do not think 4WD makes you invincible on the road. There are too many morons that wind up in a ditch because of it.

But at least you'll be able to get back out of the ditch 😉

You'll do more harm than good if you aren't used to driving a vehicle with significantly more weight and a higher center of gravity than your own car.

My only exemption would be if the cabin was in a very undeveloped area that never sees a snowplow.

But for normal driving, stick with the FWD. Just make sure you have decent tires/tread on it.

I agree with this dude.

Snow isn't so bad(as long as the vehicle height clears it), Ice is the real danger. If the road is not used much, good Snow Tires is likely all you will need. With any vehicle you need to drive cautiously in Snow.

One thing to consider if the road is not used much is whether a blanket of Snow might hide it. Depending on the road and surroundings you might end up off of it simply by not seeing where the road is, so always pay attention.
