Should I remove the heat sink from my Geforce 2 Pro ?

I have a Leadtek Geforce 2 Pro, you know the one with the oversize heatsink. Should I remove it a place some Arctic Silver II on the core, will it make a difference in terms of how stable it will be if I overclock ?

It should help a bit if there is no thermal paste on it right now. I would do it.
