Does anyone know what Asus intends for the pad on the back of this motherboard, the A8N32 SLI Deluxe?

No instructions. I think I would ordinarily have expected, nothing but air, but there is this small foam pad that is attached.

I am not refering to the cpu socket support on the back and the cpu area on the back is not covered by this pad.

Does it play a role in transfering heat to the back of the motherboard? I was thinking better for board to breathe..but, It appears pad belongs, but since I don't see this pad on back in pics I see for reviews and while asking this a little late.. I already have the new motherboard with this pad on back installed into my case... with all left to do being to turn it on..

Just a final check.. is it ok to leave on.. or do I need to remove this pad?

No mention in booklet that I could find that came with board from Asus.

I have the pad covering an area separate from the bracket for the heatsink, it appears to be made of some kind of foam product.. and it is colored blue and white with stack cool 2 printed on it.
