Should I put baseboard down before carpet, or carpet than baseboard?

We are redoing our basement and having Home Depot install carpet. Would it be best to nail on the baseboard first? Why?

Thanks in advance,

Bottom line is, you can do whatever the hell you want, sisnce it's your house. Leave the baseboard off altogether if that suits you. However, the way it's usually done, is to put on the baseboard, then the carpet. You don't want the carpet pinned under the molding.

Thanks,
Thats kind of what I thought. I don't want the baseboard on top of the carpet.

Yeah it would suck when your cat pees on the carpet and you have to rip up all your baseboard just to get the carpet up.

My cat sucks.
