Should I pull the trigger on a Sharp 32" aquos 1080P?

$616.25 Shipped for Text

I have to sit pretty close to my TV, like 4-5' tops (computer desk is behind my sofa and I need a little wiggle room to squeeze between desk and couch). Is this worthwhile or should I get a 720p sharp for 469ish.

I've never seen a 1080p 32 set in person with good media. I'm trying to justify the cost. But I am pretty nit picky about IQ.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Sharp makes a good HDTV. If you're sitting that close, you may be able to notice the difference between 720p and 1080p.

How far away is LED backlighting going to be from hitting the mainstream. It seems like something that would be a big plus for me.

hmmm... 32" and 1080p? I don't think I'd notice any difference between that and 720p, honestly... even from half a metre away....

Too small. You want at least a 42" if you plan on watching 1080p BR movies.

My studio is too small and i feel like 32 is big enough for my living room (i have a half wall that divides it from my bedroom).

I would say 4-6' is good for 1080P for a 32" screen. 5-8' for a 37" 1080P TV.

This estimated off of Text

For serious home theater use, this calculator is pretty neat (THX and SMTPE standards). For Home theater use, you would need a 37" 1080P for SMTPE or 46" 1080P for THX.

This (or larger). I guarantee you're never gonna look back and think "I wish I would've bought the smaller TV".

Too late for a bigger tv. I feel like I made a good choice on the size though, my place is really small.
