should I play Pokemon?

forums were broken last night 🙂

but basically, I'm looking for a new DS rpg to play... and while Pokemon have the stain of being thought of as kid stuff, I'm wondering if there are any redeeming factors behind their popularity... and which of the eight billion versions to buy if indeed it is worth buying.
 
I bought a DS just for Pokemon. I loved the game when I was a kid and it certainly has a timeless quality to it that's accessable to anyone. However, I didn't like Diamond & Pearl as much as I liked the others. It's still a good game but I found it's harder to get into. There's not as much of a variety of Pokemon as there was at that stage in the other games.
 
Yes, you should. It is a great game.

If you want to get a Pokemon game now, I would recommend Pokemon Platinum.

HeartGold/SoulSilver will also probably be great games (most likely better than Platinum/Diamond/Pearl) when they come out earlyish next year.
