I have an AMD Athlon 1GHz on an Abit KT7 Motherboard. My CPU temp is running at 35C when idle and upto 51C when underload. My Case temp is running at 26C-29C. If i wanted to overclock by 100MHz how much on average would these temps go up? If they go up even further will those temps be dangerous for my system?

What is the best way to overclock on an ABIT KT7 Motherboard?

Thanks

since u have a gig, 100 is a lot if u don't have good cooling, you can only go up so much from 1 gig

what kind of HSF do u have? stock?

Your temps are fine. They will go up some of course with overclocking but you'll still be within limits. Overclocking with your mobo is easy. The first thing though is to unlock the multipliers on your CPU. (Connect the L1 bridges.) Then adjust your multiplier in the bios.

I'd be freakin out if my duron 650 @ 933 went over 45c!
but that's just me.
Until you get a better heatsink, i'd suggest not overclocking for now.

well then you are a little too sensitive. dont freak out over 45C..that isnt THAT bad. 50+ is a little bit more concerning. but yeah id advise a new HSF...alpha pal6035's with a delta fan own...if you can stand the noise. the noise doesnt bother me for 7000rpm's of cool loving. just a thought
