Should I OC my e6400?

I was thinking of buying an e8400. I have never overclocked before, but started thinking about trying it. Is it worth trying to OC my 6400 or should I get an e8400 instead?
 
theres a good guide that's stickied. You should see how far your E6400 can go before considering getting an E8400
 
I managed to OC mines to 3.3GHz with a third party cooler, could have went more but my memory and mobo restricted me.
 
Mine does 3.2GHz at stock voltage, and 3.6GHz with a little more. You should be able to get yours to 3GHz or higher, in which case you're better off upgrading your GPU if you're looking for some more speed in games.
 
My e6400 ran 3GHz on stock volts with the stock cooler on an IP35E. Once you get it to 3GHz you won't notice any difference if you upgrade to e8400 (that's what I did and saw no improvement at all).
