I heard that I shouldn't install the ide busmaster, and win 2k told me that it's not microsoft approved or whatever and that it's not garaunteed to work with win2K.. is this true? So I should just install 4.28, but tell it not to install the ide busmaster? thanks.

Mosdef, that's what I heard. I have promise ata100 controller drivers.. but I used those on installation.. would those make up for the busmaster drivers? What exactly is busmaster anyways?

Not every system is hosed with the 4-1 driver. I say check this link and download the new one and give it a shot. Basically it just limits your ATA-100 to 66 if it doesn't work. HTTP:cool:

I believe the 4.28 IDE drivers were the problem ones, and they are fixed in 4.29.
