Should I lap this heatsink?

I just received the remaining parts for my new computer which includes a PAL 8150 heatsink.
Was wondering if I should lap it or not?

Also, if I want to clean off some smudges on the surface of my processor can I use alcohol?

If the HS has a poor finish, yeah either lap it or replace it. For some reason poorly machined/finished HS's annoy me.

Get some 91% isoprop (how ever the heck it's spelled) alcohol from the drug store
