Should I keep my rigs, or should I invest an an 1155 SLI mobo and go SLI?

Current desktop rigs are in sig.

Hypothetical rigs would be probably a 2500K and an 1155 mobo, unsure which one. Not going to go all-out and get an SSD, so P67 would be fine with me.

Or should I just wait until 28nm video cards come out, and upgrade my existing two rigs' graphics cards, and sell off the GTX460 1GB cards?

I don't really game anymore, though, although I've thought of trying Witcher 2, which as I understand it has high GPU requirements, high enough that a single GTX460 1GB won't cut it at 1920x1200.

Edit: I guess one GTX460 1GB isn't so bad in this game.

A 60-64Gb SSD boot drive can be had for <$100 at Micro Center or Newegg. That's going to give you a lot more bang for the buck in overall system performance than a second GPU for 2-3 times the cost -- especially if you aren't particularly focused on gaming.

I understand; I initially fought it, too.

The Witcher 2 was quite heavy on my 470 GTXs in SLI.

If you dont game much go for an SSD, and run Witcher 2 on medium settings. It wont look as good, but it is still playable. Frankly, the game is way to short...

I would sell both q9300 rigs and run a Sandybridge setup with both of those gtx460's. Keep the q6600 for a back up.
