Should I keep my Raid Controller or use Onboard Raid?

So right now I have a highpoint Raid controller doing Raid 0 with 2 74 GB raptors. I'm wondering should I just switch it to onboard raid. Would I lose any performance? Do many people use Raid controllers these days? Also, if I do decide to switch to using onboard raid, will I lose any of my data? Thanks.

I would keep it. Migrating RAID sets is not easy.

What kind of highpoint controller do you have?

its by rocketraid and the 1540. Im just trying to limit the amount of pci slots being used.

Also, are there any benefits to using a raid controller vs onboard raid?
