Should I join a club/team next term?

Well first term is over, thank god. I didn't do much activity wise, just sorta stayed in rez and did "work". I was thinking that next term I should join an inturmural team or club or something. Good exercise, meet new people and all that.

But will it take away from my schoolwork to much? And should I just show up to the first meeting alone? I don't know if anyone else would want to play badminton with me. What if I go there and they all got their badminton 1337 ness going on and I'm stuck on the sides 🙁 I'm not that great at meeting new people either. Hmmm...... It is only once a week though, so I guess it won't take away from school too much.

Are these kinds of activites a good thing or should I just save my time?

Playing on an IM team takes practically no time at all. it's a good way to meet people (read: girls).

I joined the rugby club at my school (UCI) my first quarter, went to the first meeting alone, didn't know how to play at all, without even a pair of cleats...I was very quiet in HS also. They were quite friendly and helpful, and I haven't looked back since. It was definitely a good thing, so I'd say go for it!
