Should I install SL on my mbp right now or wait?

I just received my copy of SL and I was so excited the whole week. Well after reading the reviews after the whole week it seems like people are experiencing heat issues on their portables. I don't run 3rd party software in leopard so I'm not too worried about compatibility (although I heard some people have issues detecting their printer?). Did everyone experience the heat? is it a big problem? Should I just stop being a wuss and install it already? Thanks all!

my 13" MBP has no issues running SL and I installed on Monday when I got the disk. I haven't noticed any heat issues, but I dont have much 3rd party software or any printers so I can't comment on compatibility.

Overall the computer boots and shuts down much faster, I haven't really noticed anything else earthshattering. If your device is mission critical then I'd hold off installing until 10.6.1 but other than that, go for it.

hmmm maybe people are just paranoid? There are quite a few posts about it in the tech forum on apple. Both MBP and MBA users are experiencing 10-15 degrees increase in idle temperatures.

The CPU is idling at 42C in my 13" MBP right now. That's pretty much the same as it was when I bought the thing and it had Leopard on it. Overall, I haven't noticed any issues with SL but I don't have any printers in use on this particular machine.

Aside from Adium, Office 2008 (which actually behaves better with Spaces finally), and Transmission, I don't run a lot of 3rd party software on it but the few programs I do use have been fine.

hmmm good to know. I think I'll pick up my recovery disk before I try it in case things don't work out. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yah I did it. So far so good. I d/l and installed the HP drivers so my printer would start working. Mozy backup software still work.

Wasn't it hot how it just popped up and was all like 'Ooh, you want to use that printer, let me make that happen for you'. That blew my mind when it first happened in Leopard.
