Hi guys, I know this question has been asked many times before, but I still haven't found any definite answer.

The rig I'm building is running an Asus M2N-E Motherboard and I just finished reformatting it. Now I'm about to install the forceware drivers.

It gives me 3 options: Install nvidia SMBus drivers, nvidia ethernet drivers, and nvidia storage drivers.

I know I need the nvidia ethernet drivers for sure, but what about the SMBus and Storage Drivers? Some threads here on anandtech say to install the Storage Drivers, but avoid the SMBus, but other forums say the Storage drivers mess up your system, while others say the SMBus drivers slow your system down considerably.

What are the functions of the SMBus and Storage drivers? Which one do I need to install? Which one is known to have problems and do more harm than good? Thanks!

I have all the NVidia drivers installed for my Intel based motherboard.

But I installed them separately, even though the driver package came as a single installation file.

Install the SMBus - reboot. Install IDE (Media shield) - reboot. Install network (but NOT the Firewall!) - reboot.

The Ethernet would not work without the NVidia driver.

I built two computers using the m2n-e and I installed EVERYTHING that the drivers wanted to install... I see no reason not to. And I have seen absolutely no ill effects from doing so.
