Should i include my 1 day HS suspension on my college app?

Im applying for colleges(UF) and one of the questions is have I ever been disciplined at any academic institution. I have a few detentions for being late, and i have a suspension for throwing a trash can off the balcony, which took place at a private school in 11th grade. I have also had my license suspended for truancy, which iam going to include on the applications. What do you guys think, should I include the suspension from school? it was only for 1 day, not like that helps though.
 
1 day at home? I think you have to, they might investigate your file b/c of the truancy charges, so be careful.

really? iam transfering from college. MY gpa right now is a 3.35 my program gpa is 4.0.

I dunno; if you're referring to the administration, then I'm not familiar with them, but all of the UF students I know are about as un-elitist as you can get.

well i dunno then. why include HS stuff at all?
 
I never saw any apps that needed that kind of info, and chances are they'd never bother checking or could find out. Is truancy a school matter, or a police matter? Up in VT if we skipped school they simply called your parents and told them, there was no such thing as truancy police or whatever.

thanks man, thats a good idea. I think that is one of the only things I have going for me, as my college academic career is pretty much like my redemption for what I did in HS. My last straight year of cc college i have gotten a 4.0 every semester.

In florida they'll suspend your drivers license if you are a minor and do not attend school.
 
Don't include it.

Even if they investigate it (they won't) your HS probably isn't allowed to say anything.

In florida they'll suspend your drivers license if you are a minor and do not attend school.

ya it sucks man. It was my senior year and I was only skipping classes like shop where our school didnt even get funding for the wood, so we'd just sit in a desk everyday, no tv, no talking, nothing. Anyways the past is the past. If I dont get excepted id be really pissed, this was like my one chance to prove to really prove something to my parents. If I dont get in, I'd understand and on my past behavior I dont deserve it, but would like a 2nd chance.

but should I include the Drivers licsense thing? Maybe I should call in and try to find a different application that doesnt ask for that information. By the way I really appreciate your guys' help with this.

im coming from a community college, but really want to go to a Florida school, due to tuition and all.
 
I would skip the High School stuff. Can you really classify that as an academic institution? 🙂

There are plenty of other Florida schools to choose from:
Florida State University
University of Central Florida
University of South Florida
University of North Florida
Florida Gulf Coast University
Florida International University

I think there are more but i'm not sure which ones are private.
 
BTW, don't let Shawn talk you out of UF. I was there from '99-'03 and had an absolutely wonderful time. The courses were interesting, the campus was beautiful, and the people were friendly.
