Should I hear a beep?

I have a 20 pin PSU and 24 pins in my mainboard.
I don't have pins on my pci-express graphic card to connect the 6-pin power to.

I plugged in my cpu and my memory and I started the system.
The fans are working, but my bios doesn't make a sound.

Should I need to plug in the graphic card to hear a sound, or is there something else wrong?

Welcome to AT.

So your videocard needs a 6 pin power connection but your PSU doesn't have an output for that?

Did your videocard come with an adapter cable for this?

Plug in your video card if you hear a long annoying beeeeppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
Your video card should come with the adapter or buy one if you lost it or something

no, that's not it. My PSU has an output for the connection, but my video card doesn't have an input, so I can't use that...

I think I just need an adaptor or a better psu with a 24-pin connector

I don't hear anything, that's the problem... I'm not sure it is because I don't have a 24-pin connector on my psu
