Should I have upgraded the CPU first or will this improve my framerates for TF2?

Alrite... my system:
e6300 (not overlocked)
P5B
2gb musking ddr800
7950gt

I just bought a 8800gtx off the forums, Will this make a huge improvement in my games? Mainly, TF2 and let me run it at full resolution? Or should I have made an upgrade to my CPU first? Thanks guys. -Ken

what resolution lol?

7950GT should have been fine for 1600x1200 res but higher might have problems

your cpu is fine

the video card upgrade will probably give u more fps upgrade than a CPu upgrade.. at any resolution over 1280x1024

oc that e6300! i have a e2140 and 8800gt. even at 1680x1050 ocing my processor(1.6-->2.9ghz) made a nice fps improvement but yea that 8800gtx is gonna feel nice!

you could probably get one off these forums for maybe $380.


i'd still get a 8800gt instead, but yeah.


if you are just playing TF2 though you should have just got a 3850 or 3870. it seems to be fairly good for that particular game (and ut3) it seems.
