Should I have installed Windows Media 9....

I think it might have been a bad idea..

I was trying to find WM 7 but i coudltn find it..

any way to uninstall if I fsck up.. i dont feel like reinstalling.

I had it installed on my laptop to play media that required it. It worked for about a month... now it's telling me INVALID ARGUMENT with NHL.com videos... reinstalling (3 times) didn't help. The media itself is fine (others say it is)... so it basically f*cked up on me and I can't do $#!T about it.

What's so special about WMP9 anyway? The licensing crap is bull$#!T.

Unless you have system restore on then there is no official way to uninstall it.
Probably true, even though in Add/Remove, if you go thru with it, it does "roll back" to your previous version. Who knows what is still left behind for their spying eyes though...

i uninstalled it.. hope its truely gone.. i hate the DRM (digital rights management) stuff...

back to version 7.. 🙂

7 sounds better than stock 6.4 on W2K...

I think we'd all agree not to go to version 9, but the fact is that certain media out there REQUIRE it. What a bitc#.

DONT DO IT !! Remeber the last time you tried to uninstall Winxp back to Win2k or 98?? it will screw you over big time.

I use 6.4 for most things, but I just denied WMP9 access to the internet with my firewall, so no worries about it calling home.
