Should I have gone to class?

Early this morning (~5:30) I woke up due to a terrible fit of nausea. I didnt throw up, but kept trying to sleep. It would go away and I would fall asleep, and then it would come back and wake me up. Eventually 9 am rolls around and im not feeling any better, but I get ready for my 10 am class. Right before I was about to leave, my stomach gives out and I reject last nights dinner. Naturally, after vomiting I feel a lot better, but I was scared to go to class in fear it would happen again. What might be wrong with me? Bad food? I am also feeling a bit "achy" - I hope that doesnt develop into anything more. So, should I have gone or not?

no you shouldn't have. you might make someone else sick or you might have tossed your cookies again. you probably have the flu or a bad cold. naseau - aching - feeling crappy...that is a bad cold or flu. have fun!

I had something similar a couple years ago, I threw up just about every half hour for 12 hours straight. I almost called my partner to come over and fill me up with IV fluids I was so dehydrated. I am pretty sure it was food poisioning of some type.

Stay home, drink as much gatorade with water that you can keep down, and relax.

Did it start fairly soon after you ate? Like within two hours or so? If thats the case, and you felt fine before, it sounds like food poisioning to me.

even if you had no text I would have said no.

I'm pretty sure that people don't benefit/appreciate class until their 22nd birthday.

You shouldn't have gone. Obviously, you're under the weather. Rest and fluids are the order of the day, not class and work.

Feel better soon!!

You did the right thing there. Also, a lot of you are sur[rised that he's guilty about it. Well, i would be the same way, plus i've had to basically tell people that i'm not letting them go to class before. Then again, i do tend to hang around nerds:)

Well, it looks like it was a good idea not to go to class... I would have been miserable. As soon as I had eaten, I didnt feel quite right - but I chalked that up to eating too much. I do feel guilty for missing class, plus Im worried that the professor may have given a pop quiz. The way I think about it, I'm only in class for 15 or so hours per week, so there really is no excuse to miss any. Except for sickness of course. My stomach is still topsy turvy, but I havent vomited again. I think that may be because I havent eaten since, but at least ive been able to keep down water. I really hope this isnt the flu!

Man, I would have went to class, sat down next to the hottest girl there, and hoped she felt sorry for me if anything happened. :D That's just me though.

Give the prof a call and explain why you weren't in class today. Ask if there is any work you'll need to make up.

If you had gone to class and been sick like you say you were there would have been a lot of people pissed off at you because nobody likes to get sick. Its good that you didn't go to class.
