Should I go to Portugal or Italy?

Has anyone been to Portugal? Lissabon for 7 days, would you rather go to Rome if the prices were same?

EDIT: misleading title.

Wait to see if one of those two wins the World Cup and then go there for the party.

Ehh, I've seen enough world cup parties. By the time I leave they'll be all over anyway.

I vote Italy, but that's only because I've never been to Portugal.

If you fly into Rome, you can spend about $65 Euros for a fast train ticket to Florence round trip...it takes just a few hours. I'm sure there's a line that can take you to Venice too if you want to see the pigeons and dirty "romantic" city. Just don't walk by the fish market unless you have a strong stomach. 😛

I'd rather go to portugal, but that's only because I think I could get more out of the experience because I speak portuguese. Well, that and a bigass coastline.

<edit>

I could have sworn I read spain rather than italy. Anyway if it's between Italy and Portugal, I'd go to Italy for sure.

my sister studied in spain and said many of her friends went to portugal and said they could have done without it. i on the other hand have been to italy in venice and rome and loved both of them. italy is my vote!

Yea, I thought you were talking about the game.

France will pwn Portugal and Italy. The Italian national team is just a bunch of diving losers.

I would have said the same but after watching the match yesterday, to me it looks that italy has a good shot at beating portugal or france.

How hot is it this time of the year there? This weather is killing me (32 celcius) and I'm from California!
