Should I go to Duke or Columbia?

I got in to Duke and Columbia for the Biomedical Engineering MS program but I'm having trouble picking between the two. I believe Duke has the superior program but Columbia has the networking and social benefits that all NYC offers. Anybody here go to either school for Biomedical Engineering?

Go to Duke for Biomedical Engineering--best program EVAR. Everyone there is from New York or New Jersey anyways, and they'll all move back up north once they're done so your network will be in place! For other social benefits and hot chicks...just drive south 8 miles on 15-501 and take the Franklin St. exit...

Duke, by a long shot. Back when I was applying for BioMedical Engineering, i didn't even consider going to Columbia.

Go to the school in the area where you want to work.

Different companies recruit at different schools, so it's good to look at the recruiting roster that is easily obtainable from the school's career counselor. If "choice" companies don't recruit at your school, you'll have to do more legwork in networking to get there.

Both are good schools but i would probably pick duke without knowing more details. Isnt Columbia an Ivy Leauge?

go to duke... columbia's engineering school isnt the most well known in the country. duke will give you more BME connections

having changed majors twice in college, i'm not very partial towards choosing a college based solely on the strength of a single program. having said that however, both are amazing schools and if you perform well at either one, you'll definitely have a bright future ahead of you.
