Should I go get my Wendy's refund?

I went to get Wendy's for dinner for mom, dad and me. i was in the drive-thru. I ordered two baked potatoes, two chilis, one 99c jr bacon cheeseburger, one #7 chicken meal and a mandarin salad. total came out to be ~14.

it took them a while to get my order. finally they told me the chicken was cooking and if i could wait in the parking lot so they could serve the people behind me.

no problem.

i wait in the parking lot for about three minutes, a guy comes out and hands me my stuff and i come home.

when i get home, i look through the three bags and the one plastic bag (dad is going to reimburse me for the meal :)) and i realize: no receipt.

hmmm... that's odd... no receipt.... JUMPIN JILLICKERS!! THAT MEANS I GET IT FOR FREEE!!!

so what do you think. should i go back with the bags and demand a refund because i didnt get a receipt?

good luck proving you diddnt throw it out.....make a big scene so they dont wanna disrupt customers and hand u ur cash

If you don't have a receipt how are you going to prove you were at Wendy's genious? You have to mention it to them at the window for the refund to be valid.

Seeing as you left the place and went all the way home, that might be enough to reject your request. If you'd checked right when you got the bags, you probably could've walked back in and gotten some free Wendys

I didn't know that Wendy's did the no reciept thing. But don't bother, you'll have to take them to court, and it will just be your word agains Kobe's. I mean your word agains Wendy's.

actually i knew right when i got the bags... i was looking for the receipt first thing. but then when the guy came with the chicken i looked again and no receipt. but it was dark in the car and i had just gotten out of the gym and was too tired to do a thorough search so i thought 'ah fack it' but coming back home and being on ATOT and having the ATHD and chubbywallet pheromones flow through me makes me wanna go get that elusive refund :D

The only problem is they could insist they gave you a receipt and because you already went home, you could've left it home or disposed of it. Next time, don't 'aw fack it' and go and get your refund! :)

yes but i figure it's wroth a shot. its better than staying here and getting flamed. besides, i could use another coke... mmm... coke.

That is Wendy's policy. If they don't give you a receipt, you get your food free.

Though, I wouldn't go back...

im tired so im gonna just post cliffs notes

/head to wendys, realize i need to fill gas anyway, fill gas
/get there, manager seems to be one of those penny pinching types
/explain the situation, he uses slightly broken english and seems a little flustered
/i stay calm, not really caring, just seeing where this would go; i explain that i need that receipt to get paid back from my dad (which is 100% true)
/he goes to the back and asks me to hold on
/he calls me to the back room; as this happens my cell rings but i turn it off
/he goes through the entire day's roll of receipts and finds my specific order: mandarin chicken, 2 chilis, 2 baked potato, jr bacon, etc.
/he says "here's your receipt" and proceeds to give it to me
/my weak, last ditch attempt: "but isnt it your policy that if you dont get a receipt, etc."
/he says i had to come in before i left
/oh well, whatever, i think; at least i got to look "behind the scenes" of my local wendys
/i pull up to my house and my cell phone rings again
/where are you, broo?
/i just pulled in, dad
/did you get the refund?
/no
/oh okay, good, because the receipt was right here stuck insdie the napkins; your mom tried calling you just now (i.e. as i was being shown the roll of receipts by the manager) to tell you that
