My teeth aren't bad, but aren't perfect. Somehow I managed to negotiate lower prices for my braces.. from $6150 to $5500, all in. My insurance covers 60% of the treatment so I would only pay $2200 out of pocket.

But it would mainly be for cosmetic reasons.. overall it's not very noticeable except in photos in certain angles, but I guess I would be happy with perfect, straight teeth.

Treatment for me with Invisalign would be 6-9 months, and payment includes all assoc. costs including retainer and checkups.

Thoughts?

Not sure if it's an option but instead of Invisalign I went with a regular retainer. It only cost me $700 and I only needed to wear it half the time that Invisalign would have required.

If you have the money and care enough about it, no reason not to.

Braces worked wonders for me.

Who is your insurance provider may I ask? Mine sucks balls and only covers up to $1250 for any orthodontic work...

(yes it sucks, but I'm 26 years old)

I thought Invisalign was just a retainer? I had clear braces, then wore an Invisalign retainer for a while after they came off.

If it's $2,200 for the clear braces and an Invisalign retainer afterward, go for it.

I guy here's in the middle of Invisalign. Loves it. If it were me, I'd do the invisalign just because they're easier to pop out and brush - I'd be paranoid about gack getting stuck in the braces.

how the hell is it only 6-9 months. My braces were in 3-4 years.

Yea, I thought it was 12-18. New technology?

No, my teeth are actually not bad at all... Regular braces would also be 6-9 months for me. I was born with a pretty decent smile and do not require braces.. The treatment would be PURELY cosmetic.

My provider is Sunlife. It could also be my health/dental plan at work that gives me pretty good coverage ($3k/year).

The retainer is meant for use after the Invisalign braces. You are supposed to continue to wear a retainer after the treatment, but many people do not.
