Should I get three majors?

Alright so I have these done

Biomedical Engineering B.S
Chemistry minor

If I were to take a hefty load of 21 credits I would also get a
B.A. Physiology
B.S. Microbiology

The 21 credits would be

P. Chem 1 (4 credit)
P. Chem 2 (3 credit)
Cell Biology (3 credit)
Animal Diversity Lab (1 credit)
Time and Interactivity (4 credit) computer art/scripting class
Second Semester Chinese (6 Credits)

Pchem 1 and Pchem2 are pretty good classes to have under your belt as an engineer. If it wont cost you anything, go for it. Just understand that you probably wont get anything more special than 3 diplomas.

Psych is a joke major. If you leave college with a psych degree...you got fooled. If it interests you then go for it but I wouldnt stress over that part if I were you.

Physiology and Psychology are 2 completely different fields.

damn my poor reading ability. I dont think I ever saw Physiology spelled out before.

Sorry for the confusion

I should clarify. BME is in the bag, I will get it after this next semester. But if I take P. Chem I will also get the 2 other degrees. I know BME is the main degree, but the others wouldn't hurt right?

Cliffs:

No extra time spent in school, but 21 credit final semester. What do you think?

Go for it. I'd like to have gotten more majors! Although we only got 1 diploma, no matter how many majors we graduated in, I think.

Man... what on earth for? It's not going to get you a job more easily, get you a better job, or get you a higher paying job. You'd be better off getting a job and saving up money. Some employers let you take night and online classes (or even during work hours if you flex your time) for free. I can take a class from any school in any field of study I want. Find a place like that if you really enjoy taking classes.

Do it if you want, because you can! I got a Chem Degree in the bag and Bio coming, just because I can. Next on the agenda, MCAT to MD/pHD street.

You cannot "get" three majors. You can "go for" three majors and "get" three degrees, but you cannot physically acquire a major.

My suggestion to you.. before going for any of these degrees, "get" and English and grammar book first.

I don't know. pchem on its own is supposed to be hard, and taking a lower level concurrently with a higher level rarely provides good results

I really don't see the point so I will go with no, finish your BME degree and relax your last semester. You are risking hurting your GPA and potential time that you can use to get a good job.

I agree. 🙂

Or you can do Patent law with a BME and Chem minor. 😉

But if you have no money issues at all, do whatever you like.

As far as the OP Goes:

What's the point in hanging around? If you really gotta have these degrees, then take whatever classes you can as night classes while working a real job.

Getting a bunch of degrees is cake. Getting a job is where you need to focus as this point in your career (or lack thereof).

IMHO: 4 bachelors degrees are just as notable as 2... you aren't going to make extra money for having them because companies don't give money for that sort of thing. You're better off going for a masters. The fact that you are close enough to those degrees is pretty much qualification in itself for the jobs they entail.

21 hours would put you well into finishing your Masters. Most programs are 36 hours. Masters will help much more than another major. However, if you dont plan on going that route go for it.

Get as many majors as you can so you don't lock yourself into one career, diversify.

You're kidding, right?

Yes, I'm kidding, but there's a little truth there. I've changed carrers a couple times and I'm considering another masters to move into something else.

One 4-year degree is all that you need. If you want more education beyond that then you should be doing graduate work.
