Should I get this GTX 460 2GB?

Sorry if this seems redundant... as I continue my GPU search I ran into this GTX 460 by Palit... is $250 worth it for this GTX 460 2GB DDR5?

Or should I just save $50 and go with a regular GTX 460 1GB? Does the extra 1GB of memory make a difference? 😕😱

the extra memory wont really even start coming into play until resolutions of 2560x1440 and higher

heck, there's even valid argument to going with the 768MB GTX460 as the price/performance difference of the 1GB GTX460 doesn't necessarily justify the added cost outside of peace of mind, especially if you're running a resolution less than 1080p.

That being said, if you're willing to consider ~$250 you might want to consider the Radeon 5850 or even the GTX470

I think the GTX460 1GB is 256bit and the GTX460 768MB is only 192bit

Thanks- I was considering the Radeon 5850

+1

Not only that, but Palit's warranty service reputedly sucks.

Thanks - I will stay away from Palit's products...

$50 is pretty heft for a MIR. Although even w/o the rebate, it's a decent price considering the cooler it uses.

You can get the MSI Cylcone GTX 460 for $200/shipped after a $20 MIR.

Yeah I was looking at that one too...
