Should I get this car?

I personally wouldn't buy anything in that condition. I think you might end up having to pay a lot more to get her ship-shape again. Plus, if anything goes wrong, I'm sure the factory warranty is void and you'd have trouble selling her to someone else because they would throw the fact that it's salvaged in your face.

All the mechanical stuff looks intact to me. The interior is stripped out, but who needs it for racing, they just saved the work for you 😛
Put in a rollcage and some nice shocks/springs and you have yourself a rally car 🙂

Doesn't look like they cut the wires, at least that was thoughtful of them. 😛 If you plan on making it a go-fast toy, get it because it's already been prepped for you. Throw on some Autometer gauges, tape up the holes, throw in a recaro seat and you have a car.
 
I figure it will cost about $1000 to fix the interior. The only major interior parts that are missing are the cluster (200), the heat/center console (200) and the seats (4-500). Add that to some misc parts like the door handles and mirrors and it should work out to 1000. The car does not come with keys and I dont know if it runs, but the engine looks intact. Also the milage on the car is unknown, and it will cost me about 200 to get it down to the city (currently it is in south boston)


Edit: The overall cost of the car should be around $5000, but the KBB value is around 12000-18000. The car does have a salvage title, but I dont think I would be selling it.
 
Don't listen to all these guys freaking out about it. My family drives only salvage cars that we have rebuilt, excluding one of the only vehicles we have ever bought new, a Silverado. My car looked really fcked up before it was fixed, but often looks can be deceiving. If you know how to work on cars and can get decent deals on parts, go for it.

I think salvage is way too broad. A theft salvage probably won't be the nitemare that a flood salvage is.

Well I agree, it is. We do not buy flood cars. Most of ours have been hit in the front.

Check to make sure your prices are correct. I see some computer modules missing, those can get very expensive and/or hard to even locate unless you buy new. Also, check the laws in your state. Most of the time a salvage title means it cannot be rebuilt and is good for parts only.

Don't forget the passenger airbag.

It's a good deal if you have the time, patience, and knowledge to get the car back in drivable shape. But if you're missing any of those, it's just going to sit in your hard/driveway/garage until you eventually get it towed somewhere else.
 
Buy it. I would buy this in a heartbeat...

In fact, if you're not buying it, tell me where it is and i'll see how much it'll cost to get it here to NJ...
 
I'd buy it as a toy and not much else as long as it has no major mechanical problems. Definately not a daily driver 😉 😛
 
I cannot stress enough the importance of finding out if this car can be legally registered and driven in your state since it has a salvage title!
 
thats a good deal if your into sporting events. autox, road racing, etc.

for $2,500... thats a fuggin great deal for an entire car, especially if it runs fine.
