Besides overclocking, what are you looking for? If you're just going for the overclocking option. The MSI KTpro2a will do you good. I have the Asus A7V and it's stable as a rock for me. ;)

I have a A7V and love it. From day one I have run my T-bird 750@1050 without a single problem. My board came with the 1003 bios and I have not changed ( no reason to). Can not speak for the Abit or MSI, but I can recommend the A7V from my experiecne with the board.

Asus A7V 1003 Bios
T-Bird 750@1050 (10x105)
256mb SDRAM running @140 222
30GB 7,200 ATA100 Maxtor
Yamaha 8x4x24 Burner
Diamond 400mx Sound Card
Voodoo 5500 AGP

Good Luck

I'm looking for mainly overclocking, but i want stability. I plan on getting a Duron700. I want the best price/performance ratio as well. Should i instead wait for KT133a and or AMD760.

The 760 kind of underwhelmed many folks, the DDR just didn't improve performance that much. The 133A with the high FSB looks good, but I'd get a MSI Pro 2A if I wanted something right away. The MSI Pro Turbo with the 133A chipset should be out in the next week or two.

will the Pro turbo be as good for overclocking? How much does the Pro 2A cost? Thanks

I just saw that the A7v is about 20 more bux then the MSI(120). So is their anything that makes the MSI better then the asus. From my knowledge i've heard Asus is a better company.

Based on numerous threads here I decided to go with the MSI Pro2A. Couple of determining factors were the ATA-100 support, and the reported quality of their technical support. Finally there are a LOT of people on this site that already have one. If you run into problems I think people will be jumping through hoops to help you out.

All the reviews I read list it as one of the most stable boards on the market (with the Abit), especially when overclocking. For the price, I think you'd be doing well with the MSI.

At least, that's what I am counting on...

I have a A7V and it is great
I had a Duron 700@1000, now I have a T'bird 1000@1100

The MSI KT7pro2-a looks like a good board too:)

I have heard that some boards are cramped and it is hard to mount heatsink/fans on the proc. Does the MSI have mounting problems that would require modification to the heatsink? Is their a certain heatsink/fan that i should us? I am looking at one of the orbs. Thanx

I've just bought the ASUS A7V, and I only have PC100 RAM right now, would it be a great performance-boost if I bougt PC133 instead?

My new CPU will be a 1 GHz T-bird.
