Should I get the AMD IDE busmaster driver v1.41g for my Asus A7m?

Ignore them.

The A7M266 runs a VIA 686B SouthBridge. The Chipset IDE Controllers are run from the SouthBridge and not the NorthBridge. The correct drivers are the VIA 4-in-1 Drivers for your IDE.

Thank you so much!!!

I posted this on another forum and got many go aheads and why nots......but Andyhui you seem to know what you are talking about🙂 I am glad I waited to hear from somone in the know first.

I presently have the via 1.32 version now but heard there is a 1.41 version? or some other newer one just released. I am scared of gettin the new ones b/c if it ain't broke don't fix it right? besides is there so much of a great improvement to get the newest via 4 in 1 drivers?

hmmm.....decisions....decisions.....🙂

cheers...

The latest drivers are version 4.34.

Up from 4.33, they have added WinXP support. Version 4.32 and higher contain the fix for 686B SouthBridge and SBLive problems.
