Right now i have the AIW 9700Pro and it can hanlde pretty much any game out there without a flaw. ATi has just released the AIW X800XT and that looks really enticing for me to upgrade since I can get it at 50% off from an ATi friend.

Will this card be good for the games coming out for the next 2 years? The lack of PS3.0 is a little worrying, maybe you guys can advice me.

Yes, 2 years ago I got the top of the line video card ATI AIW Radeon 8500, and paid alot less than my x800pro VIVO, but the thing about it is that up until the point I got my x800 I was able to play almost all games at atleast 1280x1024 I played lineage 2 at that resolution, You must also realize that game makers have to appeal to a main stream audience so in about 6 months to a year when the x800s become main stream the software developers will have to keeps their games playable for atleast another year, so in 2 years games will most likely run pretty crappy say 800x600, 640x480 but you must remember that at that 2 year mark you're going to buy a new one. I definately got my moneys worth out of my 8500 because I was able to play games at a higher resolutionfor two years where all my friends had to buy it a year later when it was cheaper and then they couldn't even play the top of the line games at the best res. (I hope all my speelin und grimmer is guud)

The X800XT is a great vid card, and will play most current gen games at awesome frames..

I however would lean towards an 6800Ultra or GT, as they provide PS3.0, all ready a dozen new games are going to support this tech..So if you want to remain with the same card at least 2 years or so, i would go with Nvidia.

That being said, its still a very, very fast card.. It all depends on wether you want the latest technology???
