Here's my story, i've been working at a major corp. for 4 years now straight out of college. I have always dreamt of going into my own business, but never could get the courage to quit and the money to start one up. I just found out I will be laid off in the end of March, and i have a decent amount saved up. So sounds like everything is falling into place right? Sounds like it should be a no-brainer decsision right? WRONG, i still cant make the jump with out looking back and thinking "What If". Basically what im looking for is some at'ers with experience in this and their words of wisdom, and anyone else's thoughts as well...
THanks...

Let them lay you off. You should end up getting severence pay, and will then be eligible for unemployment. Plus, there are health insurance benefits available if you get laid off versus quit. Either way you look at it, you are going to be out of a job. Why not hang in a little longer, and get the benefits of being laid off??

What you mean "What if"? There is no "What if".

1. You are getting laid off within a month.

There only 2 paths:

1. Start looking for new job.
2. Sit on benefits then find a new job.

Any other way to go?

My thoughts exactly. It's only 6 more weeks. I bet the company would LOVE it if he just quit instead of getting laid off.

Thats probably the best quote i have heard yet... thanks!

Probably should have changed the topic to:
Should I leave the Corporate World for Business World

FYI: i probably wont be eligible for severance, if they are able to place me in another account and i refuse the position. Sucks for me that would have been living $ for a while!
