Should I get new CPU?

How weak? I would personally go up to a Quad-Core (i5 3350P). I own a i3 2120, 1035T and 960T. The 960T and i3 2120 are pretty close in performance in games. The 960T @ 4.0Ghz pulls away, but not by much. We are seeing more and more games become heavily threaded though. Going with a dual-core is no longer a good idea. What games are you playing anyway? Your 6 core may still be a viable CPU depending on the games.

3350P is a great upgrade for gaming.

but even the i3 will be a good improvement, 2.7GHz Phenom II is not that great.


if you have a weak PSU you should buy a new one, there are many good PSUs for under $50.
 
As a upcoming pilot, i use FSX (Flight Simulator X) which is extremely CPU based. I use a 1680X1050 resolution
I also play Fifa 13 which runs great maxed however FSX is poor (with addons in it)
 
Ok thanks alot, though let me ask, will there be a huge difference between the 3350p and the i3? Because I still need to get a intel mobo

Actually I have been reading that in some areas FSX can utilize a ton or cores- 😀 What model motherboard do you have? Can it accept AM3+?

And yes the i5 would be a big difference in this game.

Based on my knowledge i hear FSX doesnt use more than four lol. As a matter of fact I think people run the i5's on 3 cores for a higher overclock, but after all what do I know XD.
I have a crappy ASROCK N68C-S UCC 95W that is AM2+ though I have a AM3 CPU

I ran FSX and those were the results. My budget is a low as possible for good performance and im looking at 250 for the CPU and motherboard. Also it is well know in the FS community that intel is much better than AMD for FSX.

I am seeing 4 cores being fully used and the other two not so much. Do you live next to a Microcenter?
 
Shipping is quite expensive. To ship the 1045T down here cost $200TTD or 30US, My 8GB G.Skill cost 150TTD or 23US and the 7770 cost $79 TTD or 13US. Thanks alot for the links, I think ill go with the 3350p and ASROCK combo, since I already have one lol
