Should I get fallout 3 for free, or assassins creed 2 for $10?

Spent 200+ hours in Fallout 3 (and all DLCs). A great game overall. However, Assassin's Creed 2 has something Fallout 3 lacks - an amazing story. The way it's built and handled is exceptional. I'm not saying Fallout 3 completely lacks story - especially the small things are done extremely well. The stuff you discover and encounter on the side. But still, I enjoyed AC2's story much more, both that of Ezio and the truth we learn while playing the game.

I own and played both games extensively. If I were to choose based on the enjoyment a game has brought, I'd pick AC2. Though if you value the amount of time a game provides more, then go with Fallout 3.

Another vote for Fallout 3. While AC2 wasn't a bad game, it can't hold a candle to FO3. Longer game play, less repetitive mission structure, deep story, and a nearly endless amount of side-quests and exploring. Get it for free then spend the $10 on the Broken Steel DLC. You'll be glad you did.

I am going to have to disagree with every poster above 😀 and advise going for Fallout 3 (even the original version without the extra content).

Was that supposed to be a joke, or just pure retardation? :hmm:

Option #2 methinks.

AC2 is a better game IMHO but you'll get ALOT more play time out of FO3. Honestly if there's any way to pick 'em both up you'll be doing yourself a favor, they're both great games.

Fallout 3! Seems to be more open-ended, with more stuff to do, and it's free!

I'm guessing the OP has a gift card or something and can get a discount on one game.

I liked F3, but I wish it was more like Oblivion. I mean this from a expansiveness point of view; ex: Oblivion has tons of quests, but F3 only has like 50. F3 gave out an achievement for every quest, main story line or not, whereas Oblivion was much more expansive.

If it was me I would get AC2 but I am not a big fan of RPG games. Though my friends that are RPG fans think FO3 is great. You will definitely get more playtime out of FO3. If you like the RPG games then I would say go for that. AC2 is a lot of fun as well.

Definitely AC2. I'd recommend playing both, and the GOTY version of Fallout 3 is the best option there since it includes the DLC you'd otherwise have to purchase.

A slight hijack, but...
If you have a pc, would it make more sense to get Fallout on the pc and AC2 on ps3? Considering the ridiculous drm on the pc version of AC2 and that you can mod Fallout on the computer.
