'95 Rodeo valued at $5k but it's our only vehicle. Currently have liability only for $300/6 months. If I get comprehensive w/ glass (and $500 deductible), it will be a $388/6 months.

Low risk for theft, but you never know what else may happen to the car... would you do it ? No brainer ?

Do it! My car stereo system got stolen, and my comprehensive covered it with ZERO deductable! What if a tree falls on it? What if the windshield breaks? Comprehensive covers everything out of your control.

Two questions.

1) Do you feel lucky

2) If you are not lucky, can you afford to be without the vehicle while any repairs are being done and/or being replaced? All the above comes out of your own pocket.

Unless you really needed that extra $180 a year I would do it. Chances are that nothing will ever happen and you won't ever need it. But you will be kicking yourself if something did happen.

I would spend the extra money.
