CPU: Intel P4 Prescott 3400MHz
Motherboard: ASUS P5AD2 Premium
Video Card: BFG 6800GT OC 256MB Nvidia GeForce

Current RAM: 1024 MB of Corsair XMS2 DDR2 PC2-4300 (512x2)

Anyone have any suggestions on some better RAM? Or is this optimal? And if you can explain a little, all the better. Thanks!

You need to provide more info. Are you oc'ing your cpu and/or ram? What kind of timings and voltage are you using? Why do you think you need better ram? What model prescott are you using?

FWIW, the OCZ EB PC2-4200 and PDP XBLK PC2-5600(use to own) are excellent. Both can be hit 617mhz @ 3-2-2-8 timing and can get up to 800mhz. If you perform a search in this forum, Sentential is getting great results from Mushking PC2-6400 sticks and has a review of them in his thread about a week ago.

I've had the PDP and now am running OCZ PC5400EB Platinum.... both are excellent, but the top dog now is the Corsair PC5400UL. It's got the world record at somewhere around 1045mhz and runs better timings than the PDP or corsair. Go check out XtremeSystems for some good info on DDR2. I'm not sure what chips the corsair is using but he PDP and OCZ use the same ones, Fugger calls them the BH5 of ddr2. I'm going to pick up some of the corsair very soon and will probably replace the OCZ with them and relegate it to the everyday pc..😉
