I picked up Kingston Hyper X 3000 2x512, but now I am second guessing the decision. What do you guys think? should I exchange it for 3500 or 3200?

What CPU are you running and what does it overclock too?.This will tell you if you need better ram.My 2.4C does 3.4-3.5GHz so i need better ram to 5:4 ratio 450-460DDR.The kingston 3000 is good and you can run tight timings with it.The only thing is if it overclocks well you will probably only get 430 DDR out of it.All depends on what your CPU can do.

LastRide,

I have a 2.4C with it. I really think that I might be limiting myself with this mem choice. I would like to do 3.0 at a minimum, but I know that later this mem might not cut it. I initally like the 3000 for the tight timings, but I think I'm gonna hit a wall with it sooner then I would like.

PS- how do I calculate DDR speed? 5:4 means 5*(FSB)/4 right or am I way off?
