I like them. My teeth always felt cleanest when I used my electric. However, I have receding gums and my dentist suggested I stop using the electric since it may be rubbing my gums away faster. I don't know if it was really making a difference or not in the gums.

No.

Find an extra computer power cord. Dip the end that goes into the PS side into saltwater, then plug the other end into a friendly 120VAC outlet. Insert into mouth and bite down. The more fillings you have the faster it works. It tingles and gets warm, never fear that's just the eddys doing their job. Much faster/better than flossing brushing anyday.

Ever smell how fresh and exhilarating the air is after a thunderstorm? Now you can have breath just like that, guaranteed!

those $7 spinbrush pros are some of the best values out there. I don't even bother with replacement heads since the brush itself is so cheap. I find I need to change it every month, month and a half. I don't know how it compares to a sonicare but my teeth feel smooth and clean afterward.

The Sonicare Elite 7800 is great. If there are 2 people in your household, the 7750 is more convenient (comes with two 7800 handles).

I think you're probably twice as well off getting a $7 Power Flosser than a $100 toothbrush, because that is where most cavities are formed, and they do an exceptional job of cleaning between the teeth.

Yes definetely get one. The cleaning you will recieve from it is far superior to that of a normal brush. Make sure to get a nice one and don't cheap out. I've been using one for 5 + years and the dentist is baffled by my teeth (and I only brush once a day). Regular tooth brushes are hard to use because you have to brush with an up/down motion and properly hit all your gums and underneath where the tooth/gum meet. With an electric one that rotates and vibrates you hit all your gums in one shot and massage them too. I've got a BrAun Oral-B brush.

I've been using the Sonicare (the cheapest one, $75 can't remember the model # and it's not written on the handle) since my dentist recommended it a couple of years ago. My teeth were MUCH better after switching from manual brushes to the Sonicare. So i'd recommend it but not the elite or whtever the expensive ones are called, all they have extra is a better rubber grip handle and the quadpacer timer. mine works fine with the regular 2 minute interval timer. The quadpacer just tells you every 30 seconds to switch to another 1/4 area of your mouth. I don't really need that, as long as I brush for 2 minutes I end up getting alll the areas anyway.
