Should I Get a Second Opinion?

I was unhappy with my dentist so I started going to a new one. According to my oral surgeon, he's one of the best in the area.

Anyway, he tells me that my bite is screwed up which can lead to wearing and chipping of the teeth and potentially problems with my jaw.

The upshot is ~$600 for molds and ~$1100 for adjustment.

Could this be a sham?

before investing that much money i would say a second opinion is a good idea... My last dentist told me something very similar.. "i have a class 3 overbite which will eventually lead to all my teeth falling out and serious jaw problems" (or something along those lines)

anyways, went to another dentist and he said that yes-- my bite isnt great, but fixing it would only be needed for cosmetic reasons, he said i shouldnt ever have any major jaw problems becuase of it.
