Should I get a PDA?

Im leaving for school in the fall and im thinking about getting a PDA. I can't decide if I'd really use it or not. I'm not very organized, so I'm thinking it might be a good idea. I'm just wondering how useful they really are. Any thoughts? Any suggestions on any in particular?

I'd love to say I use my Handspring Visor Deluxe all the time, but I don't.

Unless you are really geeky, or have money to waste, get an anolog day planner instead. Franklin Day planners are considerably less and far more reliable. Again,with the changing technology, you may be obsolete in your purchase as soon as you leave the store, but the day planner will still be an effective and reliable tool, for a long, long time.

I was given a PDA as a gift... I never thought I need one so I never bought one myself...

however now I am quite attached to it... It's quite useful to keep all your plans organized, and have the ability to write down whatever you want whenever you want is always nice... I also use AvantGo with it, so I download websites onto the PDA so I can read the news whenever I have spare time...

I know most of the functionalities can all be done with a pen and paper, but the PDA is more compact and easier to carry around... I still wouldnt say I need one, but I would definitely say it's quite useful...

I thought i would use my Sony Clie all the time, but after a month or so i just started using it for playing chess and viewing the Anandtech pages on AvantGo.
