Should I get a new PSU for my build

I still can't decide whether I would want an i5 or an X4 for my new build, but I know for sure I will salvage some parts I have now. My only concern is whether or not to use my PSU I have now in my current build, or get the 650TX and remove my current one from the new build. The computer I have now will be approaching the 2 year mark soon with this current PSU running for almost the entire 2 years non stop.

Depends on what GPU you plan to use with it. If you are simply reusing that 4890, your old PSU should be fine. If you are adding another 4890, then get a better one (750TX).

I plan on reusing my 4890, and I don't plan on getting another. PC games are kind of loosing interest to me lately, I really just want to keep my stuff up to date..plus building is always a fun ( sometimes expensive) hobbie of mine.

If you will keep the 4890, the Corsair VX 550W is certainly enough. If you plan to upgrade to a beefier GPU (e.g. 5850/5870), I would suggest a larger capacity power supply such as the Corsair 650TX/HX or Antec TruePower 650W.
