Should I get a new case?

So I'm thinking it's time for a new case, as I'm using a 7 year old ANTEC SOHO FileServer PLUS 1060. It has space for 4 80mm fans, but right now I don't actully have any working. Just the side off. My question is do you all think it's time for a new case given what I'm running below, or do you think I just need some new fans. I do like to overclock, but not to the extreme. Course this could be because my cooling sucks 😉

If a new case, I'm thinking between these 4. Antec 300/900 or HAF 922/932. BB has the 900 on clearence for $99, which is the same as Newegg, but I'm thinking tax woudl be less than shipping. Not sure if the 300 would fit all my components and still have proper cooling. Microcenter has the HAF 932 for $112, and Newegg has a special on the 922 for $110 with free shipping.

The HAF 932 is a large case with good cooling, though it may be a bit noisier and / or dustier than some others. Considering you're coming from a case that ran 4x 80mm fans, it shouldn't be an issue, though.

You really can't go wrong with any of them, though. It just depends how big of a case you want.

Yea, I never actully ran all 4 fans, normally just 2. This is is like 21h x 19l, so it's pretty big. Probably more than I need considering I'll probably not run SLI anytime soon, and maybe use 2-3 HDD's at most. Right now I have both a dvd burner and dvd player, but I'm going to get a Sony Optiarc to replace both of those. I'm thinking maybe the 922, since it's a pretty good bargin. Does it have built in fan adjustment's like the antec's?

I don't think you'd have a problem fitting your components inside the Antec 300 either.
How many optical and hard drives do you have?
You have a budget?

Just 1 HDD at the moment though I may do RAID later on and 2 optical drive, but I'm swapping them for a 1 new one that uses SATA, as these both use IDE still. I'm figuring somewhere around $100 or less. This one cost me $125 back in 2002, so it's done pretty well.

Don't know where you live....not listed in your profile....but if you're close to a Fry's, here's an inexpensive alternative. Just buy it online and specify in-store pickup. CoolerMaster Centurion 590 for $29.90. Tons of fan mounts, even adaptable for a dual radiator in the top, if you're into watercooling.

Yea, no Fry's here in KC. Microcenter is about the best we get.

Also, here's the specs for my current case for comparison. Ignore the Side panel fan, as that was added after I bought mine.

So I got to thinking about future upgradability, and maybe water cooling at some future date. I'm guessing the 300 would be out for WCing?

I think it'd do you for a while. 😉

WOW, those are some really nice cases. One issue I might see is the power supply isn't mounted flush with the bottom of the case, so if you have a temp sensing fan, it might not spin fast enough to draw in air. Add the dust cover to that, and you may just end up exhausting hot air out the back.

From looking at the website, I'm thinking maybe the 58 or 60, depending on what the difference's are.

The PSU isn't mounted flush w/the bottom of the case w/the Antec, either. The PSU rests on metal tabs.
The difference between the 58 & 60 is the 60 has 2x140mm fans mounted on top where the 58 one must purchase a kit. Quoting from their website: K58 top cover fans require special mounting kit ( OF-01) (Optional)
So, depending on the price difference between the 58 & 60 and the cost of the OF-01 kit, one might be better off purchasing the 60 if one wishes to have the 2 top fans.

Yea, gotta wait and see what the 60 prices are. I see that they also have models with a window standard. Once again, have to see the price difference between those 2. I wonder if the temp sensor/fan control they show actually works with this case too. That'd be nice.

If you haven't made your purchase already, the 300 and 900 from Antec have very good performance-price ratios. You'll be able to fit everything you need in there, even a Nvidia GTX285. I have first hand experience with these cases and see them as solid for gaming, so they're worth another look (or check out the 902 on Newegg).

Yea, I haven't bought anything yet. I might be leaning toward the Lian-Li's or maybe that NZXT that is coming out, but that thing pretty ugly in the front.
