Should I get a kitten?

It's a huge deposit but I could probably hide a kitty from the world if I needed to. Plus maintenance doesn't go in the house much.
I would name the kitty Maribelle.

I personally don't like cats. I think they're boring and despite what cat owners say, you CANNOT play with a cat the same way you could play with a dog.

I can't say that your ready for that kind of responsibility. Perhaps a fern would be a more appropriate pet for you.

Well if you grind the meat and add some egg whites it usually can make up for the bulk of the feline being less than mature. Rosemary and thime are usually good seasoning. I would advise pairing it with a glass of Chianti classico.

I would much rather have a dog but I don't have the $500 deposit to put down for one.

You could probably find dogs in your local classifieds for a cheap price or maybe even for free. And I think animal shelters have a small fee for adoption. Might wanna check those out.

1. LOL @ people getting worked up over the gerbil comment.
2. Have you done any background research on the costs of ownership?
3. Are you prepared to take responsibility for the physical and mental well-being of a living, sentient creature?

good points. Also, while you are aware, but others might not be, sentient != sapient.
