Should I get a gen 1 Ipad?

I can get a gen 1 ipad now new for about $350. Should I? What is so compelling 'other' than the camera, which I won't use on the ipad.

The refurbs are $349, new are $399. (the refurbs are perfect, Apple puts a new case on them, no scratches or dings, full warranty, I recommend them to everyone, and no has gotten burned yet)

The area that the iPad2 will shine is multitasking & being able to open multiple browser tabs, it appears that there's 512MB of ram in the new model, and that will make a significant difference in the speed of the device. I'd wait.

Why spend the extra $150 for a GTX 280 if your Intel integrated GPU works just right?

If you can answer that question, you know why you should pay the extra for iPad 2.

Personally after watching how the 3G iPhone (with its inferior hardware) got thrown to the wolves later in its life (with almost unusable iOS updates), I wouldn't want the half powerful iPad. I plan to buy the iPad 2 next week for this reason.

The only reason the 3G lacks compared to anything after it is because of its graphic processor (or lack there of).

Don't ask about features, or anything. Just answer the question. If you answer that question with "yes", then you should get one. If you answer that question with "no" for any reason at all, then no, you shouldn't get one.

Seriously, people... you all need to make up your own minds. If you're asking for suggestions, you might as well hand your money to someone on the street.

Thinner and lighter is a big deal on a tablet, which is all about form factor, portability, and ease of use.

Unless you want to do 3D gaming on the go, the higher-end hardware is unnecessary, and the "faster" part is not really a big deal.

$350 is a good deal IMO - the competition just isn't there yet.

seriously... If the gen 1 ipad has a decent enough gpu, other than the cameras and the form factor, Gen 1 ipad is a compelling deal.

Plus I think metal being that thin also states that it's more fragile than the current ipad...

Yeah at $350 that's almost enough for me to bite and I traditionally loathe the concept of a tablet.
