should i get a DVI output with this motherboard

Hi,

I am slightly worried i have now fried my mobo... it is a Asus M4A78T-E AMD 790GX and has a HD3300 built in. When i plug my DVI cable it that goes to my very old monitor... should i see something?

because when i plug the dvi into the mobo the monitor goes into stand by... why is this?

You might need to go into the BIOS and set the display to use onboard video. It might be defaulting to PCIe output.

Have you removed the 4890 before trying to use the integrated graphics? If there's no card installed in the PCIe slots, the board should fall back to the IGP in theory.
